California Supreme Court Overturns Same-Sex Marriage Ban - I love the ninth circuit court of appeals. Ancient superstitions should not be legislated, and the book of Leviticus is nothing but garbage. read more by jwray

Is it just me or is the audio out of sync on this? Here is another link that seems to have better audio sync in my opinion. http://youtube.com/watch?v=rGlfayMNSnE

What happened to the Goldwaters?

No kidding...I posted a Goldwater quote once while debating some religious right Christians and one of the responses was "why do I care what some left-wing liberal has to say?". Obviously someone who knows nothing about Goldwater and just shows how much the republican party has shifted.

BTW here is the quote...and it actually fits in perfect with this video...

--Barry Goldwater--
Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them.

read between the lines of his politics and philosophical influences and it's not that difficult to understand: Murray Rothbard, Ayn Rand, Austrian Economics, ultra-capitalist, privatization of everything...

Admittedly, this is for supporters who are "crossing party lines" -- instead of picket lines -- so it may not satisfy your appetite, but ask yourself if you could imagine a "Libertarian-Socialists For Ron-Paul" t-shirt...

I guess I'm not "getting" your jokes again. This is the second time you have said that he is an anarcho-capitalist and it is also the second time you have not backed that claim up with anything...

I was gonna say nice avatar update as well! BTW have you recently become a deviantArt member? If not, there's someone there who is using the same avatar image, sans santa hat.

I notice that your avatar has the holiday spirit. Nice. I might have to do the same with mine, especially since mine is also a likeness of Jesus.

From an Op-Ed piece in the New York Times titled "Mitt’s No J.F.K." By MAUREEN DOWD...
The problem with Mitt is not his religion; it is his overeager policy shape-shifting. He did not give a brave speech, but a pandering one. Disguised as a courageous, Kennedyesque statement of principle, the talk was really just an attempt to compete with the evolution-disdaining, religion-baiting Huckabee and get Baptists to concede that Mormons are Christians.

“J.F.K.’s speech was to reassure Americans that he wasn’t a religious fanatic,” Mr. Krakauer agreed. “Mitt’s was to tell evangelical Christians, ‘I’m a religious fanatic just like you.’”
